Denise L. Rooks (nee Kerezy), age 58, died December 15, 2017, after a valiant battle with bladder cancer. Treasured wife of Charles M. (Chuck). Cherished mother of of Jeffrey (Jeff) and his wife, Morgan. Devoted daughter of Estella Carol Gerda. Loving sister of John (Kathy), Alex and Colleen (known as Kay). Esteemed daughter-in-law of Charles R. (Chuck) and sister-in-law of Linda (Don) Kasych, Susan Kroyer and Brian (Zeina). Proud aunt and Godmother of Shawn Kasych. Dear aunt of Katie (Ryan) Tappel, Karen Kasych, Tyler Kerezy, Bailey Mendlik, Cody Kroyer and Olivia, Julia and Adriana Rooks. Honored great-aunt of Eleanor Rose (Ellie) Tappel. Honorary aunt and dear friend to many.
Denise loved family, music, traveling and all things Disney. She worked 20 years for The MetroHealth System, first as a pediatric nurse and later as a research grants manager. The family gratefully acknowledges all those who supported Denise through her illness.
Mass of Christian Burial to be held December 21, 2017, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 4940 Broadview Rd. (N. of Brookpark Rd) at 10:00AM. The family will receive friends in the TOMON & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 7327 Pearl Rd., (S. of Bagley), Middleburg Hts., Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Family and friends wishing to pay their respects prior to mass should meet at Tomon & Sons at approximately 9:00AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Denise's memory, to The MetroHealth Foundation, with designation to the Cancer Care Center or to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
