Rest in peace Alan Ballauer, age 79, born 10/04/1942, passed away 07/14/2022. ALAN BALLAUER, Alan J. Ballauer of Parma, age 79 passed away on July 14, 2022. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Sminchak) for 58 yrs. Loving father of Wendy Boergert (Frank) and Edward. Brother of John P. and Angelique Ballauer of Florida, both deceased and Elaine Beckert (Donald, deceased) of Beaumont, TX. Son of the late John P. and Lillian. Al's many interests besides his family, were traveling, classic cars and the Cleveland Indians. He worked at US Steel Corp. over 20 yrs. Celebrating Al's life, the family will receive family and friends one hour prior to service at St. Leo the Great Church, 4940 Broadview Rd., Cleveland, OH, 44109 on August 3, 2022. Mass is at 10:00 am. The internment will follow service at Brooklyn Hts. Cemetery in the Mausoleum in the Sanctuary of Angels North, meet at cemetery. Masks are preferred. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of your choice.

St. Leo parishioner, Rosanne Cifani, will be visiting Medjugorje at the beginning of August. She welcomes anyone interested to write their prayer requests and special intentions in a notebook that she’s provided and left in the church office. This notebook will be carried with her on her journey to Cross Mountain, Apparition Hill, the Church of St. James the Great, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Rosanne will be picking up the notebook after the 11 o’clock Mass on July 31st. Please feel free to stop over at the Rectory any time before then to mark your intentions. Thank you, Rosanne, for taking our thoughts with you to give them up to our most Blessed Mother. We pray for safe travels for you.

Rest in peace Kathleen Haines, (nee Babroski), joined her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 14, 2022. Loving mother of Kristin Boyle (Bryan), Theresa Permenter (Benjamin), and Stephen Haines; beloved Baba to Kaylin and Kevyn Boyle and Robert Permenter; daughter of Lucille Babroski; sister of Daniel Babroski (Cindy), twin sister of Jerry Babroski (Becky), sister of Maria Polk and niece of Annette Gorris (Craig). She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Babroski and brother, John Babroski. Kathy was devoted to her grandchildren and was a spirited Jazzerciser. She was a long time lover of Cleveland baseball and celebrating Dyngus Day with her family, and she was always having fun. Kathy had a passion for baking and was known for her famous baked beans. She was an overall positive force in the community, working as a nurse throughout her career. Kathy enjoyed volunteering at the Metroparks, especially in her retirement, participating in a frog study. She was truly a special friend to many. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, 15500 S. Waterloo Rd., Cleveland, OH 44110. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 22 at 11am at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 4940 Broadview Rd., Cleveland, 44109 and friends and family are invited to gather at Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Rd., Parma, OH 44129 at 10am for a prayer service.
